Delivered and facilitated a workshop on how to align expectations with mentees to faculty in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Davis.

Interviewed Professor I. M. Idriss as part of the Geolegends series of the Geoinstitute. Discussed his academic and consulting life and contributions focusing on lessons and future outlooks.

Invited by the Center for Educational Effectiveness (CEE) of UC Davis for a presentation and discussion on developing an integrated plan for research and education towards a successful proposal.

• UCDavis Civil and Environmental Engineering Webinar Series for Faculty (Summer 2020)

In collaboration with Prof. C. Bronner, developed and delivered a series of six webinars on remote teaching to all faculty within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

• ASCE YouTube Live Teaching Panel (07/27/2020)

‘Ready, Set, Remote! Lessons Learned During the 2020 Transition to Online Learning.’ Invited panelist with five other geotechnical engineering educators talking about teaching during the pandemic and what changes are underway for teaching in our field. Organized by the Geo-Institute Soil Properties and Modeling Committee and the U.S. Universities Council for Geotechnical Education and Research.

• CBBG Online Teaching & Learning Webinar Series (04/2020)

In collaboration with the Center for Biomediated and Bioinspired Geotechnics (CBBG) developed and participated in a series of three webinars on Online Teaching covering: (i) course design, (ii) active learning strategies, and (iii) assessment. Topics: “Active learning strategies/techniques in asynchronous and synchronous online teaching: ECI171 Soil mechanics” and “Organizing your online course and delivering content: tips from the trenches.”

• COVID-19 Slack Workspace for UC Davis College of Engineering (CoE) Faculty (03/2020 – 07/2021)

In collaboration with Prof. Colleen Bronner, developed and maintained Slack workspace for sharing advice and tools for CoE faculty for online teaching during the pandemic.
